Creative Director, Francesca Amfitheatrof, explains: “Riders of the Knights is about the medieval heroines who changed the course of history through the force of their strength and will. I was thinking of women like Joan of Arc, Queen Elizabeth of England or Eleanor of Aquitaine. I wanted to capture the idea of strength through chains, armour, amulets and even swords. It is quite a radical change in look for Louis Vuitton jewellery, but the pieces are still very much identifiable as jewellery and of course, we only use the very best gemstones. Louis Vuitton is a strong brand, so it needs a strong look.”
The collection mostly presents imposing pieces with chain designs and colored center stones. The rings rather look like signet rings, which could be worn by both women and men by their strong statement. We can identify several Louis Vuitton codes such as the flower, the iconic star monogram and a blend of the letters L & V.
Most of the 50 jewels were sold at the launch event and Louis Vuitton's atelier is currently working hard on the other 50 pieces that will be unveiled in the next coming months.

After Capri, Saint-Tropez, Hawaii, and Rome, Prague was chosen as this year’s destination for Louis Vuitton to unveil the latest High Jewelry collection. With such a strong signification and symbol, the Maison chose the Prague Castle to present the new pieces. A historical landmark and UNESCO monument, the Prague Castle consists of palaces and ecclesiastical buildings of various architectural styles, from the Romanesque to the Gothic. This architecture provides a perfect setting for the Riders of the Knights Collection.
In addition to the exhibition, Louis Vuitton invited its guests to a dinner by Alain Passard in the impressive Vladislav Hall.

Its major presence in Place Vendome, Paris, establishes the French Luxury Fashion House as a serious and growing high jewelry competitor, facing Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels. With only 11 years of high-end jewelry creativity, Louis Vuitton is already imposing its style in the very exclusive and limited sparkling market.
