Memorable Watches at Baselworld

Baselworld is the rendez-vous for discovering the finest but also most extravagant new watches and jewels from a large number of luxury crafts brands.
From Chopard to Chanel, Graff to Crivelli, Baselworld is welcoming big players as well as some niche brands with major potential in our market. As always, Rolex, Patek Philippe and the LVMH Watch Brands including Tag Heuer, Zenith and Hublot were the most important exhibitors.
Surprisingly, Longine and Omega, part of the Swatch Group, decided not to attend to the event anymore. It is true that the Swiss exhibition demonstrates an important decrease of participants in the recent years, mainly due to the major costs implied. As a result, many brands are quitting the show such as Louis Vuitton and Movado, or prefer the SIHH context (Hermès).

Unveiled in 2014 and stilll the most expensive watch in the world ($55 mln), the Graff Hallucination Watch welcomes two little sisters this year:
-The GW9701 Round Graff Fancy Vivid Yellow Diamond Watch. It is set with 211 diamonds weighing 59.25 cts.
-The GW9639 Oval Graff Fancy Vivid Yellow Diamond Watch with an oval dial, it presents 60 diamonds, total of 25.85 cts.
Both watches house Swiss-made quartz movements.

The Swiss watchmaker is renown for its extravagant and extremely pushed design watches that are making you wonder about crafts’ limits.
The Legacy Machine Flying T is composed of a high domed sapphire crystal under which the movement is stacked, surrounded by a lacquer or diamonds dial. A large flying tourbillon adorns the top of the composition with the clockworks resting below. This structure reveals a strong effort on both technical and esthetical level. Prices extend from $115k USD to $300k USD for a full paved diamond version.

For ladies, Bulgari reinvented their iconic Serpenti Watch. The Seduttori version is considered more comfortable, flatter, and perfectly adapting to the wearer’s wrist. The hexagonal links are smoother and interprets the sinuous snake skin.
In high jewellery, the Serpenti Secret Watches are again under the spotlights. In this collection, the snake’s head is blooming with precious stones and cabochons Also, the tubogas technique is put aside, leaving space to a rigid bangle for the first time.
